SSL Not Working / HTTPS Error Print

If your website shows “Not Secure,” “SSL expired,” or fails to load over HTTPS, it’s usually due to AutoSSL not being issued yet, DNS issues, or incorrect redirects. Follow the steps below to resolve it.

1. Confirm DNS is Pointing to Nodico

  • AutoSSL can only issue certificates for domains pointing to Nodico’s servers.
  • Ensure your nameservers are set to:
    • ns1.nodico.org
    • ns2.nodico.org
  • DNS changes can take up to 48 hours to propagate globally.

2. Check SSL/TLS Status in cPanel

  1. Log in to cPanel.
  2. Under Security, click SSL/TLS Status.
  3. Find your domain and click Run AutoSSL if it hasn’t already been issued.

3. Wait for AutoSSL to Complete

The AutoSSL process usually completes within 10–15 minutes, but can take longer after domain propagation or DNS changes. During this time, HTTPS may show errors until the certificate is installed.

4. Fix HTTPS Redirect Loops

  • Go to cPanel → DomainsForce HTTPS Redirect.
  • Ensure redirect is enabled only for your main domain.
  • If you manually edited .htaccess to redirect HTTPS, remove duplicate redirect rules to avoid loops.

5. Browser or Cache Issues

  • Clear your browser cache or test using Incognito/Private Mode.
  • If you use Cloudflare, purge cache or disable proxy temporarily to confirm if SSL is working directly from the server.

6. When SSL Still Fails

  • If the SSL/TLS tool shows “DNS DCV failed” or “Authorization failed.”
  • If your certificate is expired and AutoSSL hasn’t renewed it within 24 hours.
  • If HTTPS redirects to another domain or IP unexpectedly.
